OKARA, March 1: Police have registered a case against 11 religious leaders of various sects under 16 MPO. Reports said the ulema had delivered speeches two days ago at the city Gole Chowk mosque under Tehrik-i-Khatmi-Nabuwwat and demanded restoration of religion column in passport. They had condemned President Gen Pervez Musharraf for his alleged Qadiani-friendly policies.

Those who were booked included MMA provincial president and JI central Naib Amir Hafiz Muhammad Idrees, Syed Amir Hussain Gillani of JUI-F, Maulana Shabbir Hashmi of JUP, Syed Ziaul Shah Bokhari of Jamiat Ahl-i-Hadith, Maulana Ghulam Mehmood Anwar, Maulana Allah Wasaya, Maulana Abdul Latif Cheema, Maulana Abdul Hayee Abu and Maulana Sibtain Naqvi.

BLACK DAY: The Pakistan Medical Association observed black day here on Tuesday as a mark of protest against the rape of Dr Shazia Khalid at Sui in Balochistan. Speaking at the occasion, PMA district president Dr Muhammad Azam Khan and secretary general Dr Abdul Aleem said the government must probe all aspects of this inhuman incident.
