KARACHI, Feb 27: The Karachi Water and Sewerage Board has extended further the deadline for regularizing water connections by three weeks. Oversize and illegal connections can now be regularized till March 21.

According to a water board statement, there would be no further extensions. Strict action would be taken against those having illegal water connections thereafter, clarified the statement.

The KWSB managing director, Brig Iftikhar Haider, has directed deputy managing directors Syed Ikhlaq Hussain and Israr Zaidi to ensure that water connections were regularized through the board's tax and engineering divisions.

He said extension in the date was made on the appeal from the public. Brig Iftikhar asked the tax division officials to extend all possible facilities to people so they may deposit their challans at the earliest.

According to a KWSB spokesman, those having irregular industrial, commercial and residential water connections may contact on phone Nos 4976172 and 4801436, and on 9230319 for director tax. - APP
