Published February 17, 2005

LARKANA, Feb 16: A clash between anti-encroachment staff of the municipal administration and management of the Dar-i-Abbas Imambargah was prevented by timely intervention of a nazim and police.

The situation grew tense when the municipal staff tried to stop the construction of a wall of the Imambargah, saying that it was encroachment. The staff and the people working at the site exchanged hot words and encroachment inspector Ahsan Memon was beaten up.

Larkana Taluka Nazim Nazir Shaikh and ASP Gohar Mushtaq arrived there, negotiated with both the sides and decided to measure the plot of the Imambargah before resumption of the construction.

POLICE: The Market police picked up an alleged absconder, Ayaz Jatoi, on the charge of fighting with the SHO of the Mahota police station.
