LARKANA, Feb 1: A bomb went off in the yard of the railways rest house near the railways station on Tuesday. The device was so powerful that it made a two-foot deep crater and the blast was heard in villages on the outskirts of the city.

DPO Saeen Rakhiyo Mirani quoting the Bomb Disposal Squid said it was a half-pound local-made bomb. No loss of life took place. The Dari police registered an FIR against unknown persons under the Explosive Act. The SP Railways police also visited the site of incident. So far no arrest was made.

SUSPENDED: SSP (investigation) Ghulam Haider Abro has suspended supervising inspector Ghulam Murtaza Abbasi and head constable Imdad Mangi on the charges of favouring alleged killers of Rifaqat Noonari.

Rifaqat, a student of class seven, was kidnapped and killed after being criminally assaulted in Badah town a fortnight back. Khalid Noonari, the father of the boy, complained about the police inspector for supporting the killers as they had paid bribe.

Senator Mohammed Ali Brohi expressed condolence with the parents where the father had complained against the police officials. The SP investigation suspended the inspector and the station clerk and ordered an inquiry against them.
