Published January 29, 2005

KASUR, Jan 28: Three gas pipeline blasts reportedly occurred after brief intervals in Chakkoke village, 4km off Chhanga Manga, late on Friday night.

Initial reports said that panic gripped the villagers after dozens of people fainted following a gas leak.

They were brought to the Chhanga Manga Rural Health Centre for first aid. The authorities concerned had to suspend the main gas supply from Bhonkey, Saddar Pattoki. No immediate cause of the blasts was known as no official was available for comments.
