KARACHI, Jan 28: The Sindh Education and Literacy Department is conducting the census of all the educational institutions in the province. In this connection, Jan 29 has been declared the educational census day in Sindh.

To complete the census activity, the head office of the Sindh Education Management and Information System SEMIS, EDO offices at districts and SEMIS district offices will remain open from morning to late night till the work is completed, an official handout said on Friday.

The census questionnaires of schools, colleges, technical institutes and private schools have been distributed to the concerned EDOs, DOEs, ADEOs and supervisors, data-collectors will be responsible for filling and submitting the census pro forma on Jan 29.

In this regard, district training workshops were conducted in all the districts. The Director of SEMIS, Prof Mohammad Illyas Soomro, will monitor and coordinate the activity.

He emphasized on submission of timely and accurate data during the census so that the decision-makers and donors may be provided correct and reliable information. -PPI
