SHEIKHUPURA, Jan 25: Fifteen people shot dead a youth and injured his brother in Bhandour village near Farooqabad on Tuesday. Police said Saeed, 15, was cutting fodder from the field of accused Nikka, Ghafoor and Salim with the help of his brother Faryad.

They opened fire on them killing Saeed on the spot and injuring Faryad seriously. He was admitted to the DHQ in precarious condition. Farooqabad Saddar police have registered a case against Nikka, Ghafoor, Salim 12 others. No arrest has yet been made.

POLICE CRITICIZED: The family of 16-year-old Humaira Arif who went missing about a month ago criticized police for failing to recover the girl. Humaira left for Sunder, Lahore, to see her relatives but she neither reached her destination nor returned.

Her father Muhammad Arif said his family had rivalries in Sunder. He feared that his daughter was kidnapped. He demanded police high ups to trace his daughter, otherwise he would commit suicide.

SUCCUMBS TO INJURIES: Abu Zar, A resident of Housing Colony, Nankana Sahib, who sustained bullet injuries at the hands of Rafique and Rashid over a monetary dispute on Monday, died in hospital on Tuesday.

Police have registered the cases against the accused. According to police, accused Rashid inflicted on himself bullet injuries to register a counter-case against Abu Zar. Rashid was also stated to be in serious condition.

Meanwhile, Heera, a resident of Sharaqpur Road, who was shot at and injured by two car riders over a minor dispute, also succumbed to his injuries in hospital on Tuesday.

BODY FOUND: B-division police recovered a body with its head chopped off from Dera Hafizanwala on Tuesday. The body was sent to the mortuary for autopsy. Motive behind the murder could not be ascertained.
