RAWALPINDI, Jan 15: President Gen Pervez Musharraf has reiterated that Pakistan will continue to provide moral, diplomatic and political support to the Kashmiris at all forums.

He was talking to a three-member delegation of Kashmiris which called on him on Saturday. The president said in seeking solution to the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, confidence-building measures and the dialogue process should proceed in tandem.

He stressed the need for resolving the Kashmir dispute, the basic cause of tension between Pakistan and India. The Kashmiri leaders, who called on the president, included Barrister Abdul Majeed, Prof Nazir Ahmad Shaal and Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai.

The Kashmiri leaders thanked the president for highlighting the Kashmir issue in the world, particularly in the US, the UK and the European Union. They acknowledged that the president had not deviated from Pakistan's stand on Kashmir while showing flexibility.

"This proves that Pakistan is sincere in resolving the Kashmir issue," they added. The Kashmiri leaders said India should also demonstrate flexibility to resolve the Kashmir issue. -APP
