KARACHI, Jan 7: A mela 'Mount Fuji-ta-Mai Kolachi' will be organized from Jan 14 to 18 here at the Danish Gah. The five-day event will be held under the auspices of the Pakistan-Japan Cultural Association (PCJA), Sindh.

An announcement to this effect was made by the President of Pakistan-Japan Cultural Association, Sindh, Ms Fatima Surraiya Bajia, at a news conference at Karachi Press Club on Thursday.

She said craftsmen from Sindh and Balochistan, as well as those from Japan, will participate in the mela, aimed at encouraging craftsmen, handicrafts as well as the cottage industry.

Prof. Dr. Moinuddin Aqeel and Prof Asifa Ataka, who were also present at the press conference, expressed the confidence that the mela would help further strengthen the friendly ties of Pakistan and Japan, besides promoting the culture of the two countries.

Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan will perform the inauguration while the Chief Minister, Dr. Arbab Ghulam Rahim, will be the chief guest at the concluding ceremony. - APP
