GUJRANWALA, Dec 17: The Anti-Terrorism Court No 1 charge sheeted 24 accused involved in the Sialkot jail incident here on Friday.

Among those present in the court were former Gujranwala DIG Malik Muhammad Iqbal, presently posted at Multan, former Sialkot DPO Amjad Javed Saleemi, Gujrat DPO Raja Munawar Hassan, former SHO Zulfikar Ali Virk, Elite Force SI Mehmood Butt, former Allama Iqbal Hospital MS Dr Firdaus, surgeon Dr Sajjad Hussain, former Sialkot jail superintendent Sikander Hayat, assistant superintendent Raja Mushtaq, Akhter Iqbal, Ghulam Sarwer, 11 Elite Force officials and others.

Judge Mujahid Mustaqim charge sheeted them for killing four civil judges, five captors and injuring two judges. The judge ordered the accused to sign on charge sheet documents, but former jail superintendent Sikander Hayat and assistant superintendent Raja Mushtaq refused to do so.

The court would decide action against them on next hearing. The judge adjourned the case till Dec 24 and summoned evidence against them. The Sialkot Civil Lines police had registered an FIR against the accused under an anti-terrorism act on the report of then Sialkot senior civil judge Muhammad Yousaf Aujala.

ROBBERIES: Robbers plundered cash and other valuables from two houses, besides targeting three landlords and taking away a motorcycle in several strikes in and around the city on Friday.

Reports said four robbers stormed into Muhammad Ashiq's house at Sanser Goraya village, locked the inmates in a room and took away Rs120,000 in cash, gold jewellery, mobile phone sets and other valuables.

In another strike, four bandits entered Muhammad Nawaz's house in Wazirabad. They roped the inmates and got hold of Rs100,000 in cash, ornaments weighing 20 tolas and dowry of a girl. They locked the house from outside before fleeing.

Two motorcyclists stopped landlords Muhammad Mushtaq, Babu Saeed and Nizamdin near Mari Bhinderan village in Naushera Virkan and snatched from them Rs470,000 in cash they had been carrying after drawing from a bank.

Meanwhile, two armed men took away Saadullah's motorcycle (LXO-8032) near Mari Khurd at Alipur Chattha. Relevant police stations have registered cases and are going into the matter.
