Published May 28, 2002

SIALKOT, May 27: All the government and private schools on border areas of Sialkot and Narowal districts have been closed due to the Indian heavy mortar and artillery shelling.

Sources told Dawn the record had also been shifted to safer places at Sialkot due to the mounting tension between Pakistan and India along the working boundary.

They expressed their hope that schools would be opened after the summer vacation.
