GUJRANWALA, Nov 26: A local anti-terrorism court wants investigation of murder and other heinous crimes by expert and senior policemen.

Announcing judgment in the murder case of a constable on Friday, ATC-1 judge Mujahid Mustaqim observed that investigation of murder and other complicated cases was assigned to junior and inefficient policemen.

"They not only create problems for petitioners and respondents but also waste court time." The judge sent a memorandum to the Punjab police chief, asking him to direct his senior police officers to monitor and review the investigation.

He suggested that expert police officers should be inducted for investigation in murder and other heinous crime cases for speedy justice. "Investigation completed by officers should be checked by district police officers or sub-divisional police officers."

Muhammad Bilal was present in his showroom when the accused came there and kidnapped him at gunpoint. Later, they demanded Rs100,000 for his release.

On a tip-off that the accused were present in Khiali area on Sheikhupura Road, police conducted a raid there and arrested Muhammad Abas and Yasin besides rescuing the trader.
