KARACHI: Three die in road accidents

KARACHI, Nov 21: Three persons, including an elderly woman, died in accidents on Sunday. Police said that Fatima, 65, was knocked down by a speeding vehicle on Golimar Road, Gul Bahar. She was rushed to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival, police added.

The conductor of a minibus died when the vehicle over turned while over speeding on Sharea Faisal. Police said that the minibus of P-1 route (JE-1842) was over speeding when it over turned near Drigh Road railway station. Subsequently, they said, its conductor Shah Mohammad Shah, 20, got crushed beneath the bus.

Eight passengers escaped the accident with minor injuries, police added. In Qayumabad, a pedestrian died in a hit-and-run accident. Police said that Mohammad Usman, 25, was crossing the main road when he was knocked down to death.

SUICIDE: A man committed suicide by self-immolation in Keamari on Sunday. Police said that Arshad, 30, poured kerosean oil and set himself on fire at an open plot near Madina Centre in Keamari.
