KARACHI: Fog disrupts flights

KARACHI, Nov 12: At least five international flights of the national carrier were diverted on Friday to Lahore due to foggy weather in the city. Officials at the Quaid-i-Azam International Airport said that the PK-242, which was scheduled to arrive here at 5:15am from Damam, was diverted to Lahore. It arrived Karachi at 9:22am from Lahore.

They said this followed the diversion of PK-730, which was coming from Riyadh, to Lahore. The passengers were shifted to another flight, PK-3132, which landed here at 10:15am.

The officials said the PK-226 was scheduled to arrive here at 5am from Muscat. It was also diverted and it came back from Lahore at around 9:50am. They said the next flight, PK-236 from Abu Dhabi, was scheduled to land here at 4:55am. It was diverted to Multan and arrived here at 8:38am.

The fifth diverted flight, PK-282 from Behrain, was scheduled to arrived here at 4:30am. It came back from Lahore at 9:42am. A Qatar Airline flight also arrived here 35 minutes behind the schedule. The foggy weather also badly affected departure of five flights of the national carrier.
