ISLAMABAD, Sept 28: Participants of a seminar on squash development held on Tuesday called for dedicated efforts by the player to revive the sport. Organised by the PSF, the seminar was attended by Jahangir Khan and Qamar Zaman, coaches and officials.

Jahangir stressed the need for hard work and concentrated efforts by the senior players. He pointed out that despite lucrative cash awards announced by President Gen Pervez Musharraf, the players were not doing enough.

He emphasised that strict discipline should be maintained by players during training camps and tournaments. Rehmat Khan, coach of the junior team while expressing satisfaction over the performance of the team, said that it was the best in the world.

PSF's director of coaching, Jamshed Gul hoped that the senior players would also produce good results in future. Mohibullah Khan, Qamar and Mahboob Khan were of the view that efforts were needed to improve the stamina and physical fitness of the players.

Fahim Gul highlighted the importance of proper training equipment and the services of a psychologist for developing stamina and skills. This was agreed principally by PSF.

Senior vice president of PSF, Air Marshal Rashid Kalim said that the PSF was planning to send a group of players to compete in leagues in England. Jahangir proposed that a technical panel be formed by PSF for talent hunt and selection of players for national training camps.
