CASH AWARD: Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission Director-General Dr Ghulam Nabi Mirza has said that education is necessary for every Muslim -- male or female -- as it enables one to distinguish between right and wrong.

He was addressing staff members and students of his alma-mater, Government MB High School, here on Saturday. Educational progress, he said, is the only way to sustainable development and science is the only panacea for maladies we are inflicted with.

Only scientific advancement can lead to the revival of Muslim ummah. He also urged the students to concentrate more on their studies and shun politics. He announced a gold medal and a cash prize of Rs10,000 for the student of this school who would get first position in Gujranwala board's matric exams.
