RAHIM YAR KHAN, Aug 12: Scores of people from kachha area on Wednesday staged a demonstration in favour of district Nazim Syed Ahmed Mehmood and against farmers of pacca area who had protested three times against water shortage.

The demonstration was led by Sadiqabad tehsil Naib Nazim Habib Gopang, UC Nazims and PML leaders. The procession started from Cantt Chowk and ended at Jinnah Hall. The participants said the district Nazim was the leader of both kachha as well as pacca areas and doing his utmost for the development and welfare of the people.

On the other hand, PPP district president MPA Chaudhry Javaid Akbar Dhaloon alleged that Mr Mehmood and his 'toady' nazims had protested without any reason and tried to politicize the issue of water shortage.

He said a white paper about the corruption of the district Nazim and his 'sycophant' UC nazims would be published soon. Mr Dhaloon alleged that Syed Ahmed Mehmood and his like-minded tehsil and union council nazims were involved in misappropriation of development funds and demanded an inquiry to that effect.
