SUKKUR Aug 4: Sindh minister for home and coordination Rauf Siddiqui has said the operation against bandits in Shah Belo will continue till the elimination of remaining outlaws.

He stated this during his visit to Shah Belo on Wednesday. The minister said five police stations and 25 police pickets would be established in kutcha areas of Sukkur and Shikarpur districts to maintain constant check on outlaws' movement.

Mr Siddiqui lauded excellent performance of the Sukkur range police during the Shah Belo operation, which, he said, would continue till 10 per cent remaining criminals were eliminated.

The minister announced three motorboats and Rs100,000 for medicines to police particularly for snake-bite cases and malaria. He said the operation allowance would be awarded to those personnel who had taken part during the Shah Belo operation.

Earlier, DPO Ghulam Shabir Shaikh gave a briefing to the minister about the Shah Belo operation. AIGP Ramzan Channa and DIGP Rahoo Khan Brohi also accompanied the minister on the occasion.

Meanwhile, addressing police officials in Sukkur, the minister called upon them to perform their duty with utmost devotion as they were protectors of life, honour and properties.

A press release said the minister stressed upon officials to take out feeling of fear from the public about them and police stations should work as help lines. He also advised them not to succumb to any pressure and work sincerely for greater good of people.

OVER 30 ARRESTED: At least 30 people allegedly involved in kidnapping of two persons in Garhi Khairo were arrested by the Jacobabad police near Garhi Khairo on Wednesday.

Several other persons were also arrested in Karampur. Arbello, son of Mohammad Hayat, and Mohammad Sadiq, son of Abdul Khaliq, had been kidnapped in the Rano village, near Garhi Khairo, on Friday last.
