HYDERABAD, July 23: Students of the Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro, belonging to the Jeay Sindh Students Federation staged a demonstration outside the press club here on Friday against alleged excesses of central jail authorities on JSSF leaders.

Speaking on the occasion, the general secretary of the federation, Noor Nabi Halepoto, demanded that the press secretary of the organization, Sagar Hanif Burdi, and other leaders be produced in court.

He demanded that all false cases against them be withdrawn. He warned that if JSSF leaders were not released, a series of demonstrations would be held throughout the province.

Fayaz Khaskheli, Hosho Abro, Mustafa Jalbani and others also spoke on the occasion. They said the excesses against imprisoned leaders should be stopped and they be produced in court.

JSSF workers of the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Jamshoro, also staged a demonstration on campus against the imprisonment of Sagar Hanif Burdi, Shafi Jogi, Nisar Solangi and Zafar Korejo. They criticized jail authorities for victimizing JSSF leaders.

SPSF-SB: Students of the Mehran University belonging to SPSF- SB staged a demonstration outside the press club against alleged anti-students policies of the university administration.

Talking to newsmen, Abbas Umrani, Saleem Raza, Faisal Arain and others demanded that the university administration should observe leniency with students of various batches.

They complained of shortage of library books and shuttle buses and demanded that the term back policy should be abolished. Meanwhile, the token hunger strike by students of the 93- batch of the university entered 78th day. They are demanding the award of degrees to students of 93- batch.
