SARGODHA: Six booked for forgery

SARGODHA, July 21: The cantonment police on Wednesday registered a case against six owners of photocopiers in and around district courts here for alleged sale of fake loan forms.

The alleged forgers had been selling fake forms for Poverty Alleviation Programme loans worth Rs50,000 at the rate of Rs50 to 100 per form. They had thus earned one million rupees during the last one month.

The DPO took serious notice of the matter, but the cantonment police were allegedly trying to save the accused. They allegedly provided an opportunity to the accused to get pre-arrest bail from sessions court. The victims have demanded transfer of investigation from the cantonment to some other police station.

MADRESSAH SEALED: An Auqaf manager sealed Madressah Sirajul Uloom on Wednesday, apprehending a clash between groups of students. One Muhammad Asif, resident of Azad Kashmir, was allegedly stabbed to death at the madressah by his classmate, ZiaUllah, while discussing a sectarian issue a couple of days ago.

It was learnt that about 50 Afghans studying in the madressah had gone into hiding. The madressah in-charge alleged that Auqaf had wrongly sealed the madressah. However, the Auqaf manager told newsmen that the action was taken under a directive of the Punjab Auqaf secretary.
