SIALKOT, July 8: The federal government has decided to establish one each computer training centre in Sialkot and Gujranwala to facilitate industrial workers and their children.

This was stated by Ministry of Manpower and Overseas Pakistanis director-general Ms Razia Zuberi while talking to newsmen at the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) here on Thursday.

She said the step was being taken keeping in view the importance and wide range export activities in the two cities. She gave out that the ministry had initiated a multi-pronged project costing Rs90 million for the social welfare of industrial workers in the country. Under this plan, several projects pertaining to industrial workers would be initiated in different cities.

The director-general further said the government was concentrating on resolving the problems of industrial workers on priority basis and many revolutionary steps had already been taken in this regard.

The government, she said, was making frantic efforts for maintaining smooth and strong relations between the employers and employees for ensuring healthy industrial activities.

She said the purpose of these efforts was to eliminate the chance of industrial disputes and to keep the economic wheel in full motion. Ms Razia said the export of industrial workers to various countries had been considerably increased in the recent past and would be further increased.
