SAHIWAL, April 23: Kassowal police registered on Friday a case on direction of the district and sessions judge against three ASIs, 15 constables and three farmers on the charges of unlawfully detaining four minors and committing a dacoity.

ASI Liaquat Ali of Chichawatni Sadar police took into custody grower Mazhar Husain of Chak 10/14-L and released him after taking bribe. Mazhar reported the incident to the Multan range DIG which enraged the ASI who raided his house along with police force on the night of September 11 last and arrested four minors. The ASI also took away Mazhar's licensed gun and his new motorcycle. He released the minors a few days later.

When Mazhar tried to lodge a kidnap and dacoity case against the ASI, police did not cooperate with him. Mazhar moved the sessions court which ordered registration of a case against ASI Liaquat, ASI Malik Naeem, ASI Ahmad Yar, 15 constables and three farmers.

Meanwhile, Chichawatni city police on the court orders registered a case against SHO Zulfiqar Ali and ASI Rashid for unlawfully keeping in police lock up a grade six student, Sajid Husain, to take revenge from his father. The boy was arrested by the SHO on December 11, 2003, and recovered by a court bailiff.
