OKARA: Two perish in road accident

OKARA, March 23: Two persons were run over and killed by a wagon at Amli Moti bus stop on the Deepalpur-Pakpattan Road on Tuesday. Reports said Muhammad Aslam and Muhammad Subhan were waiting for a transport when a Pakpattan-bound bus (E-5838) , driven by Hayat Muhammad Baloch, ran over them. They died on the spot.

Muhammad Ijaz, who was standing along them, suffered injuries after which he was shifted to a hospital. A local police team arrested the driver.

SHOT DEAD: A girl was shot dead by her father over suspicion of loose morals at Chak 27/4-L. According to reports, the girl was sleeping at her uncle Akbar Ali's house when her father came there and shot her dead. Relevant police have registered a case. Meanwhile, at Amli Moti village in Deepalpur, a girl hanged herself.

DIES: Haji Abdul Hameed, the father of PML-Q district secretary-general Mian Abdul Rashid, died here on Tuesday. He was laid to rest in Ghorey Shah graveyard. Qul will be held on Wednesday (today) at his residence in Rehman Colony's main street near the general bus stand at 8am.
