MULTAN, March 19: Seven office-bearers of the High Court Bar Association, Multan Bench, have been elected unopposed. They include five executive body members, a vice-president and the finance secretary.

Their unopposed election has left contest only on the seat of president, senior vice-president, secretary-general and joint secretary. The polling will be held on March 27.

Abdul Aziz Khan Niazi and Maulvi Sultan Alam Ansari are the contestants for the president's seat, Kunwar Iqbal and Muhammad Saleem Khan Lodhi for SVP, Sardar Balakh Sher Khan Khosa and Pir Masoodul Hassan Chishti for secretary-general and Rao Muhammad Iqbal and Azra Saeed for joint secretary.

Five executive body members were declared elected unopposed on Friday after a candidate Abdul Hameed Chaudhry announced his retirement. They included Malik Muhammad Usman Bhatti, Rana Muhammad Shakeel, Abida Shaheen alias Shabnam Shani, Chaudhry Muhammad Bilal and Mirza Muhammad Kamal Ghauri.

Malik Waqar Haidar Awan and Muhammad Atif Murtaza have already been elected unopposed vice-president and finance secretary, respectively. -APP
