MULTAN, Feb 25: Two sanitary workers of the city tehsil municipal administration were killed while three others sustained serious injuries on Wednesday when a portion of the old Multan city wall Allang collapsed on them.

Sikandar and Fida were unloading garbage at a CTMA filth depot alongside Allang near Delhi Gate on the road that led to Khuni Burj area. Both of them died on their way to hospital while Fayyaz, Riaz and Mureed were admitted to the Nishter Hospital in serious condition.

CTMA Nazim Mian Faisal Mukhtar has ordered an inquiry into the mishap. He has also promised financial help of the aggrieved families. The weaker parts of the Allang were supposed to be repaired in a previous drive to rehabilitate remnants of the ancient Multan city.

BODY FOUND: The body of a teenager was found on Wednesday from a mound in the outskirts of the city under mysterious circumstances. Sarfraz Hussain (17) had developed some differences with his parents and left home in Saadat Colony on Tuesday. His family tried its utmost to search him, but to no avail.

However, someone informed his father Manzoor Hussain about a body found from the nearby mounds. Manzoor identified the body as of his son Sarfraz. It seemed that he died as a result of land sliding. His family had refused to conduct the post mortem.
