GUJRANWALA: Policemen among 25 booked

GUJRANWALA, Feb 10: On the directives of the Lahore High Court, 25 people including police officials, were booked on Tuesday for torturing some citizens. Former Baghbanpura SHO Malik Irfan raided the outhouse of Farooq in Nawab Chowk along with his staff and tortured him and his men reportedly at the behest of his rivals on Sept 29, 2002.

The police later registered a false case against them. The victim moved the high court which ordered registration of a case against the police officials and his rivals.

SEIZED: People's Colony police claimed on Wednesday to have seized 160 bottles of liquor and arrested five people. On a tip off, a police party intercepted a car (IDG-5637) near Kashti stop and recovered the liquor. Those arrested are Sabir, Suleman, Riaz, Babar and Nadeem.
