LONDON, May 17: Britain’s late Queen Mother has left her fortune to her daughter, Queen Elizabeth, while her residences will be divided up between other members of the royal family, Buckingham Palace announced on Friday.

Under an agreement with the state from 1993, the queen will not have to pay inheritance tax on her mother’s estate, which has been variously estimated at anything up to 50 million pounds (73 million dollars, 79 million euros).

The estate includes priceless works by painters Claude Monet and Paul Nash and the jeweller Carl Faberge which will join other royal treasures on public display at the palace from Wednesday.—AFP
