LARKANA, Jan 22: The People's Party Parliamentarian, Larkana district, at an urgent meeting here on Thursday, observed that the departure of Nawab Shabir Ahmed Chandio from the party would not make any difference to the party.

Ayaz Soomro presided over the meeting which observed that the government was out to divide Larkana to punish Benazir Bhutto's voters. Later, talking to this correspondent, Mr Soomro said that in his meetings with the chief ministers of Sindh and Balochistan, Mr Chandio had been assured that a new district would be created, consisting of Warah, Kambar and Shahdadkot talukas.

He said that the PPP, with the support of its workers, would foil the government's designs. Meanwhile, a meeting of the Larkana district PPP working committee has been convened on Jan 28.
