SAHIWAL, Jan 11: A special Anti-Corruption judge, Multan Camp at Sahiwal, ordered attachment of property of a former Malka Hanse SHO.

The Tehsil Revenue Officer was directed to attach the property of SHO Muhammad Jamshaid and submit report to court on Jan 29. The accused SHO had accepted illegal gratification in a murder case and was also declared proclaimed offender. The judge also directed the police to arrest the SHO immediately.

Meanwhile, a contempt of court notice was issued to the City SHO for his failure to arrest the accused despite court orders. The SHO was also directed to appear before court on Jan 29.

BAR ELECTIONS: The panel supported by the ARD won the local district bar association elections. Mehr Qutubuddin Tariq was elected president by securing 330 votes. He defeated his opponent Chaudhry Nazir Ahmed Ferozepuri who secured 271 votes. Nusrat Sherazi was elected vice-president, Farrukh Hamid secretary-general and Sohail Arshad Mirza joint secretary.

SHOT DEAD: Armed bandits shot dead a man on resistance during one of the robbery incidents besides looting a house in another incident here on Saturday night.

Two bandits shot dead Habibullah on resistance at the roundabout of Chak 87/6-R. The deceased had raised an alarm when the robbers tried to loot him. On irrigation minor canal near Farid Town, two armed robbers deprived Khurram Shahzad of his motorcycle (OKC-415).

In Khulgi Colony, two armed dacoits looted the house of goldsmith Gulzar Ahmed. The dacoits collected cash and ornaments worth Rs103,000 and injured the wife of Gulzar for offering resistance. Later, they decamped with the booty.
