GUJRANWALA, Jan 5: Punjab Transport Minister Shamshad Ahmad Khan inaugurated a wheat flour sale point at Awan Chowk here on Monday. It is among 52 points selected for selling the commodity under the chief minister's programme for the poor throughout the district.

The sale points were selected at a meeting presided over by the DCO where 20 kilogram bag would be sold for Rs170 to the people who would be given computerized coupons.

The DCO said on the occasion that an EDO and DO (revenue) would supervize the sale of flour bags. The DO said 16 sale points have been identified in the city, 10 in Wazirabad, six in Kamoki and 10 each in Naushera Virkan and Gujranwala Saddar. He said about 20,000 families would get flour bags from a sale point.

SHOT DEAD: A disabled grocer was shot dead by a man for refusing to give him commodities on loan in Nathoki village on Monday. Sajjad was sitting at his shop when accused Nawaz reached there and opened fire on him. Sajjad died on the spot.
