ATTOCK, Feb 24: The incinerator given to the district headquarters hospital Attock has not been installed despite the passage of over eight months.

Sources in the health department said the government had provided the incinerator to the hospital about eight months back.

However, it is still lying without being installed due to lack of a separate building and other requirements.

When contacted, Medical Superintendent of the hospital Dr Khalid Mehmood Khan said the incinerator required separate building and staff for functioning.

However, now funds have been approved for the construction of a building at the hospital and after its construction the incinerator would be installed, he added.

It may be noted that all the five tehsil headquarters hospitals are also functioning without incinerators.

Hospital sealed

The district health department sealed a hospital run by a quack in Mahura village of Fatehjang.

Executive District Officer (health) Dr Syed Mohammad Naqvi said a health department team led by a drug inspector raided the illegal hospital and the owner could not produce any licence for medical practice and sale of medicines.

Blood samples taken

A medical team of the Prime Minister’s Programme for Hepatitis Control (PMPHC) has taken blood samples of 69 people of Kamra village for retest, who tested hepatitis C and B positive about two weeks ago.
