KOHAT, Jan 27: The Kohat police on Tuesday arrested a man allegedly involved in attacking the Shakardarra police station with hand grenades on Oct 10 last year.

A police team raided the den of the accused, Rashid Minhas, a resident of Mohallah Saidan, and recovered one Kalashnikov and 20 cartridges from his possession.

Police claimed that the man had accepted responsibility for attacking the police station on the orders of a particular group.

Meanwhile, a court released two persons charged by police with blowing up CD shops in Shakardarra, after one month judicial remand.

Police had alleged that Nazafat and Riaz were involved in several bomb blasts at sensitive places.
