KARACHI, Jan 10: A 48-year-old man was shot dead on Saturday near Chakra Goth in Korangi, police and witnesses said.

The Korangi Industrial Area police said the victim, Naimatullah, a labourer, was shot dead by unidentified gunmen near Aroosa Clinic.

The victim was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for a postmortem examination.

Sources at the hospital’s medico-legal section told Dawn that the victim was shot a bullet to his face from a very close range as the bullet had pierced his jaw.

The police registered a case (FIR 29/09) under sections 302 (murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of the victim’s maternal nephew, Abdul Maalik.

The police said the incident seemed to be motivated by a personal feud.
