PHF Academy trials

LAHORE, Jan 2: Around 150 players in under-14, 15 and 16 year age-group categories appeared in trials at Faisalabad on Friday for the PHF Hockey Academy.

According to a Punjab Hockey Association spokesman, 48 players have initially been shortlisted for the regional academy.

Trials will also be held at Gojra, Bannu and the UBL Sports Complex, Karachi, on Saturday at 10am.

On Sunday (Jan 4), the trials will be held at the Hockey Club of Pakistan Stadium, Karachi, at 10am.

Trials from cities of Sindh other than Karachi will be held at the Hyderabad Hockey Stadium on Tuesday at 10am.

APP adds: Meanwhile no player turned up for the trials at the Lala Ayub Hockey Stadium, Peshawar, due to closure of government and private schools in the province in respect of the holy month of Moharram.
