HYDERABAD, Sept 23: A committee has been formed to resolve the problems of teachers of the Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam.

Acting Vice Chancellor, Nizamuddin Halepoto on Tuesday appointed a committee comprising teachers who were members of university syndicate and president Teachers Association, Dr Ameer Bux Kalhoro.

The committee will visit find out the rate of remuneration for PhD faculty in other universities, especially for evening classes. The committee will submit its recommendations to vice chancellor.

Vice chancellor, on the demand of employees and teachers, announced payment of half salary as Eid advance from grade-1 to 22 employees.

Class boycott: The SPSF activists of the Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Jamshoro unit, on Tuesday boycotted classes and staged a protest demonstration outside the press club against the alleged attack on SPSF President, Mehran University unit, Nooh Panhwar.

Ahsan Kandar, Jami Memon, Jibran Ali and others said that open terrorism was going on at the campus but the administration was not taking any action. They demanded the arrest of assailants of Nooh Panhwar and restoration of peace and calm at the campus.

SU: Deputy Director Media, Higher Education Commission (HEC) Islamabad, Ms Aisha Ikram visited University of Sindh Jamshoro on Tuesday. Senior consultant Mr Raziuddin also accompanied her. She attended a briefing on development projects funded by the HEC.Vice Chancellor, Mazharul Haq Siddiqui, Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr Rafia Ahmed Shaikh, Dr M.Y. Khuhawar and other officials were present on the occasion.

Advisor Planning and Development, Mohammad Hussain briefed the HEC representatives about the projects funded by the HEC. He informed that more than 90 per cent projects were complete while buildings and laboratories were in use for academic purpose.
