KOHAT, Aug10: Three rockets ostensibly fired at Kohat Airbase and cantonment hit a guava orchard and a house on late Saturday night.

The rockets were fired from Sheikhan area near Darra Adamkhel by unidentified persons. Residents of the city heard the whistling sound of the rockets around midnight, as most of them were present at the roofs of their houses because of power outage. Fear gripped the city and people started calling Rescue 15 and journalists to know facts.

Security around the sensitive installation was further beefed up after the rocket attack and police increased patrolling in the area. Soon after the attack police and military along with bomb disposal squad thoroughly searched the area but failed to locate the target of rockets. The search was abandoned as no damage or loss of life was reported from any part of the city.
