DERA GHAZI KHAN, May 3: A man allegedly slaughtered his pregnant wife over a minor dispute in the tribal areas on Friday.

One Ghulam Muhammad Bozdar, resident of Do-mar near border military police post Barthi, asked his wife to bring her hen which he wanted to slaughter to serve his guests. She refused to do so saying that that was the only bird left. Her refusal infuriated her husband who reportedly slit her throat open with a knife.

BMP have arrested Ghulam Muhammad.

KIDNAP FOR RANSOM: A gang of Chakarani Bugtis allegedly kidnapped four people, two of them later released, from Indus Highway early on Thursday morning from near Ruhjan Mazari, Rajanpur district.

They were travelling by a tractor-trolley which was being escorted by police.

The kidnappers kept Shakil, a resident of Rahim Yar Khan, and Sabz Ali Jat of Ruhjan Mazari in their captivity.

Chakarani Bugtis are notorious for kidnap for ransom. It is the second incident within a month. Police in settled areas and border military police of the tribal areas have failed to protect the people from the Bugtis.
