MARDAN, May 3: The district government of Mardan will establish two girls colleges, one each in Mardan and Takhtbhai tehsils, with the assistance of Frontier Education Foundation and the provincial education department.

This was stated by Mardan Naib Nazim Attaur Rehman.

He was speaking at the foundation-laying ceremony of the government girls primary school at Jehangirabad, here on Friday.

The Naib Nazim said a concrete plan was being chalked out to re-open the closed schools in the district.

The schools which were in a bad condition would also be repaired, he further said.

Additional rooms would be constructed in the schools besides making arrangements for the provision of drinking water, electricity and other necessary things like latrines and furniture, he went on to say, adding that this would cost at least Rs 1.6 million.
