KARACHI, June 2: The Sindhi Department of the Karachi University has organized a day-long “Kahani Conference” to be held on June 7 at the varsity’s Arts Auditorium.

A statement issued on Monday said that the holding of the conference was aimed at underlining the importance of story-writing and fiction-writing, and discuss its impact on society.

Eminent Urdu and Sindhi writers will present research and critical papers on the subject.

KU Vice-Chancellor Prof Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui will preside over the opening session. Eminent writer Amar Jaleel will present a special paper on the occasion. Provincial ministers Manzoor Hussain Wassan and Ms Sassui Palejo will be the chief guests. —APP
