THATTA, May 7: Two kidnap victims arrived in their village Chhato Chand near here on Wednesday after getting released from notorious dacoit Adlo Soomro’s captivity.

They were kidnapped 30 days ago from an agricultural farm on the right bank of the Indus River and taken to nearby Viran forest, which the dacoits used as hideout.

Sources in police confirmed the arrival of Manthar Brohi and Abid Punjabi, who according to some reports, were released after payment of huge ransom. The two were reluctant to comment on their release.

The Thatta District Police Officer was not available for comments.

RALLY: Dozens of Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz activists staged a rally and a demonstration here on Tuesday in front of the DPO office demanding arrest of murderers of JSQM activist Asghar Sheikh.

The rally led by JSQM chairman Bashir Qureshi marched on the main road to the National Highway where the participants observed a sit-in and a demonstration.

The protesters accused police of trying to hush up the murder case of Asghar Shaikh, who was killed in a clash near Nooriabad by people belonging to Shoro community.

Later, Bashir Khan Qureshi, Dr Sarwar Khushik and Mushtaque Khaskheli met

DPO Noman Shaikh and told him that Asghar Sheikh was intentionally murdered and two police constables of Loonikot police post were also involved in the case.

The DPO assured the JSQM leaders of arresting the accused within three days and the protesters dispersed peacefully.
