KARACHI, April 29: Displaying outstanding shooting ability, Saira helped defending champions Sir Syed Girls College propel into final of Karachi University Inter-collegiate girls basketball tournament imposing a 42-3 victory over Khurshid Girls College in the pre-final on Tuesday.

She led her team from the front by contributing 25 points. Sundus was the other notable scorer with eight points.

Sir Syed College now meets hosts Faculties who in the other encounter got the better of DHA College for Women 17-15.

Sadaf (7) and Sobia (6) were the main scorers for winners while Qurratul Ain and Rabia scored eight and six for respectively for losers.

Earlier, Sir Syed College and Faculties rounded off their league matches by earning full points. The former were declared winner against Karachi College for Women on technical grounds while the latter notched up 34-12 victory over PECHS College.

Faculties bt DHA College for Women 17-15; Sir Syed Girls College bt Khurshid Girls College 42-3.

Group Matches: Faculties bt PECHS College 34-12; Sir Syed bt Karachi College for Women on technical grounds.

Sir Syed Girls College bt Madre Millat College 53-0; DHA College for Women w/o St. Lawrence College; Faculties w/o Nazimabad College block ‘M’; Khurshid Girls College bt Korangi College No 4 7-0; DHA College for Women bt Government College for Women Korangi No 6 16-2.
