THATTA, April 16: The first civil judge and judicial magistrate of Thatta Ghulam Murtaza Baloch granted the pre-arrest bail to district nazim of Thatta Syed Shafqat Hussain Shah Shirazi and his elder brother former provincial minister for Forest and Livestock Syed Aijaz Ali Shah Shirazi in a case of land dispute here on Wednesday.

The plaintiff Ali Sher Brohi, a PPP activist, had moved the court of senior civil judge of Thatta in a direct complaint on Jan 14, 2005, after he was refused registration of an FIR against PML-Q affiliated two Shirazi elders, a son of Syed Aijaz Shah and six police officials.

As per the plaintiff’s plea, while abusing their authority and on instigation of the then provincial minister for Forest Syed Aijaz Ali Shah and his elder brother district nazim Thatta, Syed Shafqat Hussain Shah Shirazi, district game warden wildlife Syed Riaz Hussain Shah, son of Syed Aijaz Ali Shah Shirazi, the then police inspector of Thatta, Yaqoob Bhatti, ASI Alam Panhwar and four other police officials forcibly dispossessed him of his legal holding — a plot which was bulldozed and took away his valuables by creating harassment through indiscriminate aerial firing.

Following the registration of direct complaint six of the accused, including Syed Riaz Hussain Shah Shirazi, Yaqoob Bhatti, Alam Baloch and others were granted bail, while the remaining two Shirazi elders were granted pre-arrest bail against surety of Rs30,000 each.

The court has summoned the accused to appear on April 21 in the court.
