LAYYAH, April 12: A man allegedly assaulted an eight-year-old girl at Chah Qasaiwala near Karor Lal Essan on Saturday.

Reports said Qasim Ali, a resident of Chah Qasaiwala, his wife Allah Wasai and their eight-year-old daughter went to a neighbour’s place to attend a ceremony. The girl, along with several other children of her age, was playing in the open when a man namely Muhammad Bilal grasped her, making the other kids disperse.

Soon he let loose his lust for prurience and subjected the minor to assault. Seeing her elders, Bilal ran away and the brutally-treated victim was immediately taken to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital. Police registered a case against Bilal on the report of girl’s father Qasim Ali after obtaining the medico-legal certificate from the doctor. The culprit was absconding till last reports came in.— Correspondent
