HYDERABAD, March 31: Surgeons laid emphasis on adopting new surgical methods which they say provide easy treatment and help in reducing mortality rate even among burn victims. This was the message of surgeons at the conclusion of a three-day ‘Surgical Conference 2008’ here on Sunday.

Speakers highlighted common methods of treatment for burn patients in Pakistan, India and the United Kingdom. They said these methods would reduce the number of deaths during surgeries. They said doctors would be imparted training about initial method of surgeries that are new for burn victims as they would be provided immediate treatment. The speakers said in every big or small city doctors are imparted training for primary trauma care under the supervision of surgeons’ team.

Noted surgeon Hussain Leghari through his paper informed the audience that he had invented a devise and had named it as Isra Leghari Dilator. He said through this device the intestinal obstruction is removed and patient gets relief. He attributed the success of conference on competence of Hyderabad’s surgeons.

He appreciated the establishment of endo retro cholongeo pancreatogrpahy (ERCP) in Liaquat University Hospital that has made removal of stone from gall bladder easier.
