PESHAWAR, March 26: At least 11 people were killed and eight injured in an accident on the Peshawar-Kohat road on Wednesday.

According to local police, the accident occurred when a Kohat-bound flying coach collided with a truck at the Ladhavar Kanda area, in the jurisdiction of Matni police station.

Police said traffic had been diverted to one side of the road due to the ongoing reconstruction work on the road. Some of those killed in the accident were identified as Shehenshah Jan Mohammad, Habibullah, Imdad Khan, Abdullah and a woman, Farhada.

The injured were rushed to the Lady Reading Hospital. The drivers of both vehicles fled the scene.

According to APP, a woman and a child were among the injured. Police said the incident occurred when the driver of the flying-coach rammed his vehicle into the truck coming from the opposite direction while overtaking another vehicle.

THREE KILLED IN HARIPUR: Three persons, including two women, were killed and six others got serious injuries in an accident on the G.T. Road in Haripur.

The accident took place when a truck rammed into a Suzuki van, killing Mazlooma Bibi, Kali Jan and Ali on the spot while injuring Nazir Ahmed, Safdar, Abdul Razaq, Rashid Mehmood, Talat Mehmood and Nazuk Bibi.

They injured were stated to be in critical condition and were referred to the Ayub medical

Complex Abbottabad.

20 INJURED IN NOWSHERA: At least 20 people, including bride and bridegroom, were injured in road accident near the Chirat Cement factory on Wednesday.

A pick-up, carrying members of a wedding party turned upside down after colliding with the car of the bride and bridegroom.

The injured were rushed to the district headquarters hospital Nowshera. Six were said to be critically injured who were shifted to Peshawar.
