KARACHI, Feb 21: Seven teams are to vie for honours when the three-day Inter-university Zone F basketball tournament gets into action at the UBL Sports Complex on Saturday.

The teams which have confirmed their participation include defending champions Karachi University, Aga Khan University, Sir Syed University, PAF KIET, Hamdard University, Iqra University and IBT (Biztek).

Dadabhai University has opted to stay away from the event.

The draws of the competition were taken out in the presence of officials of the competing institutions at the hosts Sir Syed University on Thursday.

The teams have been drawn into two pools.

Pool A: Karachi University, Aga Khan University and Sir Syed University.

Pool B: PAF KIET, Hamdard University, Iqra University and IBT (Biztek).

The two finalists will qualify for the final rounds which are slated to take place at Punjab University, Lahore, from March 3.

Saturday’s fixtures: Aga Khan University v Sir Syed University; Iqra Universty v IBT (Biztek).
