DADU: Protest against traffic police

DADU, Feb 7: A large number of people staged a demonstration outside the press club on Thursday in protest against traffic police for allowing heavy vehicles to pass through the city.

The leaders of Shehri Ittehad Action Committee Nazeer Ahmed Leghari, Abdul Khaliq Babar and Maqsood Shahani who led the protest said that the heavy traffic passing through the city often led to tragic accidents.

Recently, a boy Imdad Bughio was crushed to death under the wheels of a trailer at the new bus stand but police appeared totally unfazed by the accidents, they said. Later, the protesters observed a token hunger strike.

STRIKE: Traders kept their shops closed on Thursday in protest against the kidnapping of a fellow trader, Hanif Kumbhar, who was kidnapped late on Wednesday night.

They said that they would continue protest till the recovery of their colleague.
