MARDAN, Jan 14: A group of students blocked the Mardan-Swabi road here on Monday in protest against the kidnapping of two children of a watchman of the Mardan Degree College-2.

Watchman Abdul Haque’s daughter Kausar, 11, and son Bilal, 9, had been kidnapped by some unidentified people from the college area two days ago.

College teachers also participated in the protest demonstration and demanded recovery of the children.

Earlier, representatives of students and teachers met District Police Officer Mohammad Yamin Khan to apprise him of the situation.

DEMONSTRATION: Police used batons and fired teargas shells to disperse people holding a protest demonstration at the college chowk here on Monday against frequent power and gas loadshedding and shortage of flour.
