LARKANA, Dec 13: The chairperson of the Pakistan People’s Party Benazir Bhutto is likely to withdraw her nomination papers for NA-204 (Larkana-I) as the party had allotted ticket to former MNA Shahid Bhutto, a close relative of hers.

Ayaz Soomro President PPP Larkana district on Thursday confirmed to ‘Dawn’ of nominating Shahid Bhutto on this seat and added the party ticket of Ms Benazir Bhutto for the seat of NA-207(Larkana-IV) from where she returned to parliament was submitted with the concerned returning officer Khalid Mehmood Bhatti.

Power of attorney of Ms Bhutto was with Ayaz Soomro who will submit the withdrawal on 15th, said the sources said.

Another PPP source when contacted told ‘Dawn’ all PPP nominees on NA-204 – former MNA Anwar Bhutto, Shahid Bhutto and Aftab Bhutto had been asked not to withdraw from this seat. The concerned returning officer, sixth additional session Judge Hayder Ali Abro told ‘Dawn’ on Thursday that he had yet not received withdrawal of Ms Benazir Bhutto from NA-204 (Larkana-I).

Under fresh development now Ms Ghinwa Bhutto, Chairperson PPP (Shaheed Bhutto) had struck seat adjustment with the PML(Q) who may face PPP’ s nominee Shahid Bhutto instead of Ms Benazir Bhutto.

Shahid Bhutto in 2002 elections returned to parliament from NA-207 (Larkana-IV) from where Ms Benazir Bhutto was now contesting.
