KARACHI: Youth run over by coach

KARACHI, March 27: A young man died in a road accident in Zaman Town on Wednesday.

Police said Shahwali, aged 20, was run over by a speeding Rambo coach (JE-8440) while walking across a road. He was rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

The coach driver escaped, but police impounded the vehicle.

SUICIDE: A young man committed suicide in Orangi Town.

Police said Tariq Mehmood, aged 30, was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his home in Data Nagri, Orangi Town, by one his neighbours in the evening. Police sent the body to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem.

Police could not immediately ascertain the cause of the suicide, as the young man lived alone and no immediate relation was available.

ROBBERIES: Six robberies were committed in the city on Wednesday, police said.

Armed men snatched Rs19,500 from Yousaf in Defence police limits.

Bandits robbed Kaleem and Shujaat Husain in Bahadurabad police limits.

Bandits entered three houses belonging to Farhan, Fareed and Naeem Khan, and got away with gold jewellery, cash, a TV set and other valuables.
